This dream wasn't mine
Following the success of our 2023 summer collaboration, when White & Weiss Gallery presented a show by three Ukrainian students of AFAD, the gallery continues its initiative to support emerging artistic voices. The exhibition This Dream Wasn’t Mine was created in collaboration with the 3EAM studio and presents a selection of works by 21 students currently working in this studio, under the curatorial direction of Paulína Gajerová.
The exhibited works oscillate between the intimate and the societal, between analytical and intuitive approaches. They reflect themes such as the body, identity, sexuality, subcultures, personal myths, fear of the unknown, and fascination with technology and the chaos of the contemporary world. In the gallery space, fictional landscapes, memory spaces, and visions of the future come together.
Each artist brings their own microcosm – autonomous and distinct. Yet it is only within the shared space of the exhibition that these worlds begin to intersect, complement, disrupt, or mirror one another. A new type of map emerges: a map without a legend, where themes and meanings shift, overlap, and layer anew. The exhibition offers an image of the world as a stream of fragments, where—despite apparent chaos—unexpected, quiet connections can be found.
